SZCZECIN, Poland, May 10. IT proved to be a successful day for Aleksandra Urbanczyk and Alicja Tchorz at the two-day, timed-final Polish Grand Prix in Szczecin.

MORNING SESSION
Aleksandra Urbanczyk moved into the top 20 in the world in the women's 50-meter fly. She clocked a 26.57 for the win, tying Rachael Kelly for 17th in the SwimVortex world rankings. Katarzyna Rogowska placed second in 28.99 with Dominika Sztandera finishing third in 29.36.


Just like last week in Opole, Alicja Tchorz had herself a strong day one. She started with a 2:03.54 to win the women's 200-meter free. Katarzyna Kasperek finished second in 2:05.81 with Klaudia Jankowska earning third in 2:07.98. Tchorz doubled up with a 2:12.29 in the women's 200-meter back. Klaudia Nazieblo placed second in 2:12.70 with Gabriela Wojtowicz earning third in 2:17.94.

Dawid Zielinski led a 1-2-3-4 for the host club in the men's 200-meter free with a 1:52.46. Filip Zaborowski (1:54.20), Marcin Kaczmarski (1:54.30) and Pawel Furtek (1:55.12) placed second through fourth for Szczecin.

Paulina Zachoszcz edged Dominika Sztandera, 1:11.40 to 1:11.50, in the women's 100-meter breast, while Paulina Majszutowicz earned third overall in 1:15.06. Dawid Szulich cruised to victory in the men's 100-meter breast with a 1:02.26, while Michal Perl took second in 1:04.98. Piotr Bialek finished third in 1:05.79.

Oskar Krupecki grabbed the men's 50-meter fly title in 24.74, while Maksymilian Zgierski snared second in 25.24. Piotr Kowalik raced to third in 25.69. Radoslaw Kawecki claimed the men's 200-meter back in 1:58.81, winning by a wide margin. Teammate Adam Dubiel took second in 2:06.27 with Wojciech Gabrysz finishing third in 2:09.15.

Joanna Zachoszcz closed out the morning session with an 8:57.98 for the win in the women's 800-meter free. Manuela Wikiel took second in 8:58.00 with Klaudia Nazieblo posting a third-place 9:09.81.

AFTERNOON SESSION
After cracking the world top 20 in the 50 fly this morning, Aleksandra Urbanczyk won another title with a 25.49 in the women's 50-meter free. Dominika Sztandera touched second in 26.96 with Adrianna Niewiadomska placing third in 27.49. Urbanczyk pocketed her third sprint crown of the day with a 28.71 in the women's 50-meter back. That's just a bit outside the top 20 in the world currently anchored by Meagen Nay's 28.66 from Aussie Nationals. Klaudia Nazieblo kept on taking second with a 28.77 with Alicja Tchorz finishing third in 28.98.

Alicja Tchorz returned after a short break following her morning double to kick off the afternoon with a winning 4:46.15 in the first race of the afternoon -- the women's 400-meter IM. Klaudia Nazieblo touched second in 4:51.38 with Joanna Cieslak placing third in 5:04.60.

Marcin Kaczmarski picked up the men's 400-meter IM title in 4:33.15. Jan Urbaniak finished second in 4:34.77 with Karol Olender earning third in 4:44.50. Kacper Majchrzak topped the men's 50-meter free with a 23.49, while Szymon Dymerski placed second in 23.68. Filip Wypych pocketed third in 23.78.

Paulina Zachoszcz won another breaststroke title, this time with a 2:34.89 in the women's 200-meter breast. Paulina Majszutowicz touched second in 2:38.59 with Michalina Zbrojewska claiming third in 2:39.76. Dawid Szulich also picked up a second breaststroke win on the day with a 2:17.43 in the men's 200-meter breast. Adam Rojda (2:20.82) and Rafal Kusto (2:24.26) rounded out the top three.

Joanna Mizak clipped Aleksandra Tomala, 1:05.19 to 1:05.38, in the women's 100-meter fly. Katarzyna Stasinowska wound up third in 1:06.10. Oskar Krupecki snared the men's 100-meter fly title in 54.78. Kacper Majchrzak placed second in 55.83 with Juliusz Gosieniecki earning third in 57.97. Radoslaw Kawecki took home the men's 50-meter back in 26.25 with Maksymilian Zgierski finishing second in 26.70. Rafal Bugdol posted a 27.04 for third in the sprint back.

Marcin Kaczmarski concluded the day with an 8:08.80 to win the men's 800-meter free. Pawel Furtek (8:09.07) and Filip Zaborowski (8:09.37) snatched second and third in the distance event.
