SUWALKI, Poland, October 27. THE Polish Grand Prix event being held in Suwalki came to an end with the top head-to-head matchup of the meet coming down to the men's 100-meter IM with Pawel Korzeniowski and Radoslaw Kawecki battling for the short course meter title.

After winning a trio of events during last night's session, Korzeniowski returned in the same form tonight. He blasted a 1:45.75 to win the men's 200-meter free, just a few seconds back of his Polish record 1:42.10 from 2009. Daniel Rzadkowski took second in 1:50.09, while Lassek Bartlomiej placed third in 1:51.96.

Korzeniowski doubled up with a 54.42 in the men's 100-meter IM, touching ahead of fellow multiple-title winner Kawecki, who placed second in 55.01. Mateusz Zawada pocketed third-place honors in 57.45.


Korner Zielona Gora swept the podium in the men's 200-meter backstroke. Radoslaw Kawecki finished well ahead of the pack with a 1:51.70, while training partners Adam Dubiel (2:02.30) and Filip Kolodziejski (2:03.9) placed second and third.

Klaudia Nazieblo kept up her strong meet from day one by clocking a 2:00.81 to win the women's 200-meter free tonight. Joanna Zachoszcz touched a distant second in 2:04.99, while Manuela Wikiel placed third in 2:06.00. Nazieblo doubled up with a 2:10.45 to win the women's 200-meter backstroke finale. Skarpa Lublin teammates Ludwika Szynal (2:15.53) and Gabriela Bernat (2:19.01) finished second and third.

Aleksandra Urbanczyk raced her way to a dominant victory in the women's 50-meter fly with a 26.42. She finished nearly three seconds ahead of Wiktoria Czarnecka's 29.39. Aleksandr Tomala wound up third in 30.03. Urbanczyk doubled up with a 1:00.26 to win the women's 100-meter IM. Paulina Sikora took second in 1:07.74, while Malgorzata Niedzwiedzka took third in 1:07.82.

Anna Kotowicz picked up the women's 100-meter breast title in a close 1:41.82 to 1:14.90 touchout ahead of Maria Niklarz in the finale. Wiktoria Samula wound up taking third overall in 1:15.66 with a touchout triumph of her own as Malgorzata Niedzwiedzka finished fourth in 1:15.67.

Dawid Szulich cruised to victory in the men's 100-meter breast with a 1:02.41, while Marcin Stolarski finished second in 1:04.25. Maciej Certa picked up third in 1:04.40. Mateusz Zawada earned the men's 50-meter fly title in 24.64, while Michal Brzus (25.31) and Mateusz Andrezejczak (25.52) rounded out the podium.

Joanna Zachoszcz topped the women's 800-meter free in 8:45.84, while Manuela Wikiel (8:53.58) and Barbara Wasilewska (8:59.31) made second and third-place efforts.
