Jacco Verhaeren Dutch Departure Makes Waves; Ranomi Kromowidjojo Cuts Ties With Marcel Wouda

EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, October 24. WITH Jacco Verhaeren departing The Netherlands to take over the top coaching position in Australia, there are some rough waters for the Dutch going forward. One of the latest occurrences is that sizzling sprinter Ranomi Kromowidjojo has parted ways with her coach Marcel Wouda.

According to NOS.nl, Kromowidjojo will not be coached by Christiaan Sloof, but will remain in Eindhoven. The recent change hasn’t hurt the swimmer as she’s been running roughshod over sprint freestyle on the FINA World Cup earning some serious money.

This isn’t the only change in the area. Bastiaan Lijesen also left Wouda, while Femke Heemskerk will remain training under Wouda’s tutelage. Earlier this year, Kira Toussaint and Sharon Rouwendaal also left Wouda.
