SURREY, United Kingdom, July 3. WITH less than a month until the FINA World Championships, 2012 Olympic gold medalist Chad Le Clos of South Africa has signed with the Professional Sports Group out of the United Kingdom. While the company has plenty of stars in its stable, it has some aquatics sport cred with diving sensation Tom Daley also signed with the sports agency.

Le Clos made his biggest mark in swimming last summer by beating the legendary Michael Phelps in his pet event of the men's 200-meter fly, and Le Clos hasn't looked back since achieving the incredible feat. He also picked up silver in the 100-meter fly in London last summer as well. Previously, Le Clos won the FINA World Cup title in 2011, and topped the men's 200-meter fly at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and at the World Short Course Championships that year.

"I'm delighted to join Professional Sports Group," Le Clos said. "I believe they are the right team to help me with the next stage of my career and I'm looking forward to working with them."

Professional Sports Group will now take over exclusive handling of Le Clos' commercial and media requests, and will work with the Olympic champ in developing his brand worldwide.

"We're delighted to be working for Chad," PSG CEO and Founder Jamie Cunningham said. "Chad is one of the few global stars of swimming in this post-Phelps era. He could well be one of the stars of next year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and should peak at Rio in in 2016. Chad is one of the few international swimmers who can work globally with brands outside of his sport and make a real commercial impact. We'll be working on his digital platforms as well as developing a new brand media strategy. Chad's a great communicator with a strong work ethic and family values. Whilst home is South Africa, where he enjoys incredible support, Chad can become a global sports star - of that I have no doubt. Most importantly, Chad's a winner. He has that competitive fire that separates the great from the good, as we saw in London last year."
