Chinese Swimmers Arrive in Leeds, Bath, for British Acclimation

LEEDS, BATH, Britain, July 11. ACCORDING to the Chinese press, the Chinese swimming contingent has made landfall at their split training camps of Leeds and Bath in Britain. The two-week training camps will help the swimmers acclimate to the time zone and environmental changes heading into the 2012 London Olympics.

World-record holder Sun Yang led the Bath contingent, training at the University of Bath in southwest Britain. China stated that the original training camp location of the John Charles Centre in Leeds was not big enough for all of the Chinese swimmers with Leeds also hosting the Dutch. So, part of the Chinese team has been located in Bath.

The Leeds group is led by world bronze medalists Li Xuanxu and Lu Ying with a total of 23 swimmers training there. Meanwhile, a third group of swimmers, including 2008 gold medalist Liu Zige, have decided not to arrive in Britain until going to the Olympic Village on July 23.
