Danish Short Course Nationals: Lotte Friis, Jeanette Ottesen Gray Post Strong Evenings, Mie Nielsen Sets Fifth Danish Junior Record

THISTED, Denmark, November 27. THE Danish Short Course Nationals ended with a handful of world-ranked times on the final night, while Mie Nielsen capped her career meet with a fifth Danish junior record.

Lotte Friis checked in with a 1:56.31 to win the women's 200 free, pushing her to 16th in the world rankings. Mie Nielsen, 15, set her fifth Danish junior record of the meet with a 1:56.70 for second. That swim moved her to 24th in the rankings. Pernille Blume finished third in 1:58.34, while Cecilie Johannessen swam an exhibition 1:57.87.

Marcus Bak won the men's 200 back in 1:57.16, while Chris Christensen took second in 1:58.38. Lasse Vestergaard earned third in 2:02.67. Aschwin Wildeboer Faber, who stands eighth in the world with a season best 1:52.09 from the Berlin stop of the World Cup, clocked an exhibition 1:54.51.

Jeanette Ottesen Gray won the women's 100 fly in 58.22, off her ninth-ranked season best of 57.30 from Berlin. Christina Munkholm took second in 1:01.01, while Mathlide Pugholm Hvid finished third in 1:02.26. Jakob Andkjaer topped the men's 100 fly in 52.92. Nikolai Kirketerp-Moller touched second in 53.20, while Soren Dahl earned third in 53.33.

Anders Lie dominated the men's 1500 free in 15:13.47, while Anton Orskov Ipsen touched second in 15:31.69. Frans Johannessen picked up third in 16:00.62. Kristina Thomsen earned the women's 50 back title in 28.47, while Cecilie Hansen took second in 28.77. Mette Pedersen tied Pernille Rasmussen for third with matching 29.37s.

Katrine Holm Sorensen edged Julie Leth-Espensen, 4:40.39 to 4:40.80, in the women's 400 IM. Rikke Moller Pedersen took third in 4:46.93.

Jeanette Ottesen Gray, Julie Brondum Petersen, Josephina Bartela and Mette Pedersen won the women's 200 free relay in 1:42.19 with Ottesen Gray clocking a 24.17 leadoff. That swim pushed her to a tie for sixth in the world rankings. Jakob Andkjaer, Morten Klarskov, Soren Dahl and Jonas Sorensen topped the men's 200 free relay in 1:29.14.

Magnus Jakupsson, Morten Klarskov, Soren Dahl and Jakob Andkjaer won the men's 400 medley relay in 3:37.32, while Line Gregersen, Josephina Bartela, Jeanette Ottesen Gray and Julie Brondum Petersen grabbed the women's 400 medley relay with a 4:05.02.
