Destin Lasco Blasts 11-12 400 IM National Age Group Record at Middle Atlantic JOs

SEWELL, New Jersey, July 26. DESTIN Lasco, 12 of Pleasantville Aquatics, has made a run at quite a few 11-12 national age group records here at the Middle Atlantic Junior Olympics. Tonight, he finally took down the 400-meter IM mark.

Lasco raced his way to a phenomenal time of 4:51.03 in the 400-meter IM, crushing the previous record of 4:52.24 set by Yezan Alsader back in 2013.

Lasco missed the 11-12 100 backstroke by a slim margin. He clocked a time of 1:00.52 in the 100-meter back, missing Vinny Marciano’s 1:00.33 from earlier this year. HE also clocked a 4:28.05 in the 400 free as well as a 28.10 in the 50 fly. He just missed Chas Morton’s historic 1983 200-meter IM mark of 2:15.42 with a 2:15.79, while also clocking a 56.29 in the 100-meter free.

Lasco still has Ryan Murphy’s 200-meter back record of 2:13.91 to aim for later this weekend.
