SANTA CLARA, California, June 21. IN one of the closest swims of the night, BlueFish’s Elizabeth Beisel raced her way to an epic double as she added the women’s 200-meter back title to her 400 IM victory from earlier in the night.

Beisel raced her way to a 2:09.11 to take sixth in the world after taking fourth in the world in the 400-meter IM earlier in the night at the Arena Grand Prix in Santa Clara. That’s an amazing double tonight for Beisel as she took down a pair of backstroke wonders. California’s Elizabeth Pelton (2:09.73) and Missy Franklin (2:09.86) took second and third. Pelton moved up to 13td in the world, while Franklin missed her 10th-ranked season best of 2:09.57 from the Mel Zajac Canada Cup.

Canada’s Hilary Caldwell (2:10.85), Dynamo’s Kylie Stewart (2:11.18), Canada’s Dominique Bouchard (2:13.06), Carmel’s Amy Bilquist (2:13.25), California’s Melanie Klaren (2:13.85) and Bulldogs’ Jordan Mattern (2:13.89) also competed in the finale.

Tasija Karosas captured the B final title in 2:12.85, while SWAT’s Emma Schanz checked in with a second-place time of 2:13.99. KING’s Hannah Weiss placed third in 2:15.16.

Ellen Williamson (2:15.32), CROW’s Madison White (2:15.63), Mexico’s Fernanda Gonzalez Ramirez (2:15.64), Hong Kong’s Claudia Lau (2:18.34), Bulldogs’ Rachel Zilinskas (2:20.04) and Carmel’s Sammie Burchill (2:20.41) also picked up times in the consolation heat.
