CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, May 17. WHILE we will be getting the bulk of these interviews ready for everyone in video format, here’s some quick snippets from those interviewed tonight at the Arena Grand Prix in Charlotte.

Josh Schneider: “I was tired of always being on the cusp and I’m glad that chip finally fell off my shoulder.”

Allison Schmitt: “I haven’t had a good 400 since London so I am pretty happy about that. […] Last year was tough but it kept me motivated.”

Arkady Vyatchanin: (re 200 back) “I will be happy with a time around 1:57.”
(re finding a country to swim for) “Things are moving but it’s slow. My goal is to swim at Worlds in 2015. I have already missed two world championships, I don’t want to miss a third.”
(re his training) “I have been working on my breakouts and I have to work on my turns.”

David Plummer: “I didn’t expect to be that fast, I’m pretty happy about that.”

Cullen Jones: “I haven’t swam since Orlando and I am feeling that right now.”
“I am going to go to Mare Nostrum, swimming the 50 fly, 50 free and 100 free.”

Micah Lawrence: “Focusing on swimming is easier now that I’m done with school.”

Mike Alexandrov: “I am even learning from the young guys. I got my eyes set on trials for Rio 2016, rather in the 100 than the 200.”

Connor Jaeger: “After the first 100, I saw someone way out front and I knew that was Conor Dwyer.”

Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace: “We have been working on my 100 long course fly. I need to work on my back ends and we will see tomorrow how my 100 free is.”

Madison Kennedy: “With Anna [Vanderpool-Wallace] next to me, it’s always going to be a good race. And same as her, I need to work on my back ends for the 100s, and it’s hard.”
