“The Water Is My Sky” Reaches Production Fundraising Goal of $50,000; Kickstarter Still Taking Donations

IOWA CITY, Iowa, May 6. LESS than 24 hours ago, the Kickstarter fundraising campaign to keep production going for the swimming documentary “The Water Is My Sky” was 85 percent of the way to its goal. A final strong push got the film past its $50,000 goal a week before the May 14 deadline.

As a refresher, “The Water Is My Sky” will put a primary focus on Connor Jaeger’s goal of qualifying for his second Olympic team. His story will be complemented by that of 2000 Olympic medalist Tom Wilkens, who grew up in the same New Jersey town as Jaeger. The film, slated for an early 2016 release, will also go behind-the-scenes of the lives of other competitive swimmers from various levels.

The $50,000 goal set last month was primarily to help Tremml and his crew travel across the country to continue filming and pay for equipment. With the production budget goal reached, expect to see Tremml on deck at a meet very soon with a camera on his shoulder.
