Brooke Zeiger, Connor Green Double Up On Final Night Of Buffalo Sectionals

BUFFALO, New York, March 30. BLUEFISH Swim Club’s Brooke Zeiger and Connor Green each won the 200m back and 200m IM to close out the Speedo Buffalo Sectionals.

Zeiger, a Minnesota recruit, posted a 2:13.30 to win the 200m back. Kaitlin Harty of Greenwood Memorial Swim Club clocked in at 2:18.03 for second. Haley Rowley of the University of Denver Hilltoppers touched third in 2:18.34.

Zeiger won the women’s 200m IM with a 2:18.05. Wingate University’s Sofia Petrenko hit the wall in 2:19.54 for second. Makayla Sargent of Victor Swim Club took third with a personal best 2:20.21.

Green, who will swim for Cal in the fall, put up a 2:00.44 to win the men’s 200m back. Greenwood Memorial Swim Club’s Ryan Harty touched in 2:02.57 for second. Cornell University’s Dylan Sali finished third with a time of 2:03.94.

Green clocked in at 2:05.79 to win the men’s 200m IM. Ryan Harty took second with a 2:06.08. Marko Blazevski of Wingate University claimed third with a 2:06.49.

The University of Denver Hilltoppers women (Lauren Moden, Kaylee Gassen, Haley Rowley, Abigail Kochevar) won the 200m free relay with a 1:49.46. PACK Swim Team of Pittsford (Steph Andrews, Emma Corby, Lindsay Stone, Mary Smith) clocked in at 1:50.77 for second. Bluefish Swim Club (Rebecca Zeiger, Emma McQuaid, Lilly Vivado, Brooke Zeiger) took third with a 1:51.22.

On the men’s side, Bluefish Swim Club (Owen Wright, Connor Green, Nicholas Brown, Erik Gudmunson) cruised to first with a 1:37.58. Upper St. Clair Swim Team (Nathan Novak, Patrick Lersch, Braedon Wong, Ryan Dudzinski) claimed second with a 1:39.38. North Shore Swim Club (Michael Bartley, Joshua Dinardo, Daniel Fothergill, Thomas Edwards) clocked in at 1:40.09 for third.

Lindsay Stone of PACK Swim Team of Pittsford won the women’s 1500m free with a time of 17:06.75. Twelve-year old Madelyn Donohoe of The Fish dropped more than 21 seconds from her personal best to take second with a 17:17.51. Kylie Mitchell of Greenwood Swimming clocked in at 17:18.50 for third.

PACK Swim Team of Pittsford’s PJ Ransford completed his sweep of the distance free events in the 800m free, with the Michigan recruit posting a winning time of 8:25.47. Jack McIntyre of Eastern Express Swim Team sliced more than 21 seconds off his personal best, finishing second with an 8:31.11. Daniel Golczewski of Arena Club Aquatics touched in a personal best 8:34.70 for third.

Anastasia Bogdanovski of Johns Hopkins University won the women’s 100m free with a personal best 56.93. Lauren Moden of the University of Denver Hilltoppers touched in 58.40 for second and a new personal best. Her teammate Abigail Kochevar claimed third with a 59.04.

The Bluefish women (Brooke Zeiger, Haley Gula, Catherine Erwin, Lilly Vivado) won the 400m medley relay with a 4:24.66. The University of Denver Hilltoppers (Abigail Kochevar, Kendall Crawford, Haley Rowley, Lauren Moden) touched second in 4:25.43. Greater Pittsburgh Aquatic Club (Heidi Miller, Peyton Kondis, Stephanie Sipple, Charis Larson) placed third with a time of 4:30.36.

The Bluefish men (Connor Green, Erik Gudmunson, Samuel Spurrell, Owen Wright) closed out the meet with a 3:58.06 to win the 400m medley relay. Arena Club Aquatics (David Gross, Kyle Paxton, Brian Wilson, Daniel Golczewski) took second with a 4:02.08. Eastern Express Swim Team (Connor Doyle, Jack McIntyre, Jacob Lubinski, Allen Shmurak) finished third with a 4:05.19.

Bluefish Swim Club finished the meet on top of overall points with 1372, followed by The Fish (606) and Upper St. Clair Swim Club (463).
