PLANTATION, Florida, March 14. WHILE much of the country is engaged in short course yards competition, the Speedo Sectionals being held in Plantation have offered 14-year-old professional swimmer Michael Andrew another run at some national age group records as a 14-year-old. He took down one of them already tonight.

Andrew, taking second behind Bolles' Mario Todorovic (54.43), finished second in the 100-meter fly with a 54.59. He split the race 26.15, 54.59 (28.44), en route to clipping Justin Lynch's 2011 national age group record of 54.80. Andrew's previous best had been a 54.98 from last summer.

Andrew already owns the long course records in the 13-14 age division in the 50 free, 100 back, 100 breast and 200 IM. He will be competing in the 100 back, 50 free, 200 fly, 100 free, 200 breast and 200 back the rest of this weekend, along with whatever time trials he puts up, which is standard for Andrew and his father when they are gunning for national age group marks.
