Missy Franklin, Mallory Weggemann Participate in Q&A After World Premiere of “The Current”

BOULDER, Colorado, February 17. THE world premiere of the documentary “The Current” took place yesterday afternoon at the Boulder International Film Festival, with swimmers Missy Franklin and Mallory Weggemann among the film’s subjects who attended the event.

In the post-screening question-and-answer session, Franklin was asked about her favorite part of filming in the Bahamas. Swimming with dolphins and sharks was a highlight for her, she said, and noted that sharks are “so misunderstood.” She also talked about trying to play with the dolphins and get them to emulate their motions.

The film, directed by Kurt Miller, features six disabled athletes using water activities as a way to overcome the limits of their disabilities and find freedom in movement.
