Eric Shanteau’s Swim For Your Life Challenge Slated for Saturday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, September 18. U.S. Olympic gold medalist Eric Shanteau will be hosting his fourth annual Swim For Your Life challenge beginning at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 21. Swim For Your Life is an open-water race and clinic at Lake Lanier Islands Resort located outside of Atlanta. The event will benefit the programs and services of the LIVESTRONG Foundation.

Shanteau will be joined by fellow Olympians and national team members including, Haley and Alyssa Anderson, Kathleen Hersey, Matt McLean, Aaron Peirsol, Megan Romano, Allison Schmitt and Amanda Weir. Three-time Olympian Rowdy Gaines returns as the emcee for the event.

“I am really looking forward to the Swim For Your Life event,” said McLean, a 2012 Olympic gold medalist. “We are all honored to have the opportunity to support such a great cause.”

McLean and Romano’s appearance at the Swim For Your Life challenge is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for National Team swimmer to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity.
