Paige Miller Doubles Up on Fourth Night in Shenandoah

SHENANDOAH, Texas, August 2. TEXAS A&M’s Paige Miller doubled up this evening at the Speedo Champions Series taking place in Shenandoah, Texas this week.

Miller dominated the women’s 100-meter back in 1:02.58, just missing her lifetime best of 1:02.36 from Canadian Trials a few months back. Jordan Wheeler, 15, took second in 1:05.42, while Melanie McDonough placed third in 1:05.58.

Miller doubled up with a 1:01.03 in the women’s 100-meter fly, a bit off her top time of 1:00.96 from Canadian Trials as well. Raena Eldridge touched second in 1:01.99, while Summer Campbell wound up third in 1:03.48.

TCU’s Cooper Robinson cleared 57 seconds for the first time in the men’s 100-meter back with a 56.69 to win tonight. That’s better than his 57.44 from sectionals a year ago. Duncan Mulleady placed second in 58.19, while Thomas Norman earned third in 58.46.

Colleen Konetzke took home the women’s 400-meter freestyle title in 4:24.20, with Kara Guenther taking second in 4:26.67. Haley Yelle rounded out the podium with a third-place time of 4:27.37. Longhorn’s Andrew Phillips followed in the men’s 400-meter free with a 3:59.06 for the win. Kyle Whieldon (4:04.62) and Connor Hennessy (4:04.68) finished second and third behind him.

Dallas Mustang Logan McGill nearly moved her personal best from 1:15 to 1:13 in the women’s 100-meter breast with a time of 1:14.02 for the win. That performance smashed her previous top time of 1:15.63 from just a month ago on the Texas Senior Circuit. Samantha Bassmann placed second in 1:14.73, while Rachel Ramey earned third in 1:15.03.

Dallas Mustang Nicolai Hansen followed with a 1:04.43 to win the men’s 100-meter breaststroke, while Rostyslav Fedyna took second I 1:04.94. Alton Sorensen placed third in 1:05.56 in an all 20-year-old top three with Hansen 25, Fedyne 20 and Sorensen 21.
