Winn Aung Resets 10-and-Under National Age Group Record in 100 Freestyle

ROSEVILLE, California, June 17. LESS than a month after breaking a national age group record in the 100 freestyle that was previously owned by basketball star Kris Humphries, Winn Aung lowered the record even further in the 100-meter freestyle.

Swimming at the Summer Sanders Invitational, Aung swam a 1:00.67, beating his record of 1:01.21 in the 10-and-under age group from May 19. Aung had the 200 freestyle record of 2:12.18 set in 2004 by Adam Hinshaw in his sights, but fell short with a 2:12.74.

Aung, who is coached by Mike Hoppe at Redding Swim Team, had a busy meet, also swimming six other events. He swam faster than his seed times in the 400 free (4:45.19), 100 fly (1:08.90) and 200 IM (2:35.53).

After just missing Humphries' record in the 50 free last month with a 27.75, Aung was only able to manage a 28.33 in last weekend's meet.
