LONGHORN Michael McBroom talks to Swimming World about his epic race against Connor Jaeger in the mile on the last night of finals at the Arena Grand Prix, Charlotte, also known as the Charlotte UltraSwim. McBroom posted a personal best in the event and took second.
McBroom also rewinds to NCAA Championships and placing second behind Jaeger in the two distance events. He recognizes their budding rivalry and what it means for the future of US distance swimming.
McBroom is trying to make the World Championship team, even though he has already made the World University Games team. As a recent graduate, he's taking this summer to dedicate his life to swimming and seeing where the sport takes him.
