Olympians and Celebrities Mingled During Golden Globes Weekend in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, California, January 14. MISSY Franklin, Nathan Adrian and Ricky Berens were just a few Olympic champions that spent the weekend with movie stars as part of a special event that brought the athletic and entertainment worlds together.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban hosted the “Gold Meets Golden” event, just one of the places where Olympic athletes mingled with celebrities as part of the festivities linked with the Golden Globe awards ceremony in Beverly Hills.

On Saturday, six members of the 2012 Olympic swim team gathered at the “Gold Meets Golden” event, a reunion of sorts for the swimming greats who gathered.

That was just the beginning of a star-studded meet-and-greet weekend for the six, who attended the Les Miserables cast party Saturday night at the famous Spago restaurant. In the photo below, five of the six swimmers posed with Golden Globe and Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman, who plays Jean Valjean in the film. Olympic champion gymnast Ali Raisman blends in well in the photo as a perfect replacement for Rebecca Soni.

At the same party, Berens and Shanteau managed a photo opportunity with eventual Golden Globe winner Anne Hathaway. Hathaway won the Golden Globe Sunday for her supporting performance as Fantine in the musical.

Most of the Olympians were seen on the red carpet before the Golden Globes ceremony Sunday, with Franklin sending her fans this photo of her, Raisman and cousin Zach Schottenfeld posing with Nashville star Connie Britton.

After a couple of days of wearing expensive outfits, Franklin, Adrian and Berens are back in the pool today to prepare for this weekend's Arena Grand Prix meet in Austin.
