USA Swimming’s Junior National Championships: Through the Lens of Peter Bick

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, August 15. THE Junior Nationals Championships consistently showcase the best young talent the United States has to offer. This year, 18 and under swimmers from around the country have come together at the IU Natatorium to race their way to glory. So far, we've seen meet records fall and exclamation points placed on the ends of breakout seasons. It's a wonder what these athletes will do later in their swimming careers. Swimming World photographer Peter Bick tells their story through pictures:

Connor Black had a sensational prelims swim in his 100 butterfly on the third morning of Junior Nationals, breaking the meet record set in 2009 by Neil O'Halloran. Black also finished top-eight in the 100 freestyle.

Sprint superstar Cierra Runge won the 100 freestyle by half a second, a respectable margin for the sprint race. Still, she has a second and a half to go to steal the meet mark from Missy Franklin, set in 2009.

Allie Szekely created a storm when she destroyed the competition in the 200 breaststroke the first night of finals, taking the meet record and nearly capturing the National age group record set by Olympian Amanda Beard. She added to her title the next night in the 400IM, proving she is more than just a breaststroke swimmer.

Andrew Selsikar took the men's 400IM title the second night of finals, beating out the previous night's 200 breaststroke champion Steven Stumph, who took silver.

In the end, a picture is worth a thousand words, and the following picture says it all:
ALL GREAT RACERS COME TO INDY!
Join the diving well warm-up commotion if you dare!
