USA Swimming Sectionals, Santa Clarita: Tom Kremer Wins Third Event

SANTA CLARITA, California, July 27. PEAK Swimming's Tom Kremer won his third event in two days during the third night of racing at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center.

Canyons' Abbey Weitzeil picked up her first win of the meet in the women's 200m free with a 2:02.57, well ahead of Palo Alto Stanford's Rachael Acker (2:04.65). Michaela Merlihan of Irvine Nova rounded out the top three in 2:05.42. Peak Swimming's Tom Kremer, who won two events last night, added a third tonight in the 200m free with a 1:51.72. Connor Stuewe of Palo Alto Stanford claimed second in 1:53.83, while Mission Viejo's Logan Redondo was third (1:54.69).

Irvine Nova's Ella Eastin led from start to finish en route to winning the women's 400m IM in 4:52.65. Kendall Brown of Aquazot pulled away from the rest of the finalists to take second in 4:56.26. Catie Miller of Sandpipers of Nevada took third in 4:58.57. Aquazot's Corey Okubo took home the men's title in 4:26.22, more than four and a half seconds ahead of second place finisher Michael Messner of Sunn Swimming (4:30.73). Hannon Daigler of Sandpipers of Nevada took third in 4:32.58.

In relay action, Palo Alto Stanford won both the women's (8:16.16) and men's (7:44.74) 800m free relays.
