University of Tennessee Proudly, Successfully, Hosting U.S. Olympic Team

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, July 12. THE Southeastern Conference has enjoyed swimming in the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center since it was completed on the campus of the University of Tennessee in 2008 at a cost of more than $24 million.

This week, however, the rest of the nation and the world are getting a serious glimpse at the southern hospitality of Knoxville with Team USA holding its Olympic training camp there.

Today, the Stars and Stripes held its first open practice, and rabid sports fans in Knoxville lined up around the block to get a chance to see some of the world's best swimmers.

The fans also filled the AJIAC to the rafters inside, keeping an eye on this morning's practice.

The media even made an appearance on deck.

Special thanks to Tennessee associate coach Tyler Fenwick for providing images.
