U.S. Olympic Trials Pools Being Built in Omaha by Myrtha Pools

OMAHA, Nebraska, May 23. THE U.S. Olympic Trials pools have begun the 10-day process of being built to be ready in time for Trials, starting on June 25 in Omaha, Neb., according to the Omaha World-Herald.

The target date for filling the pools, according to the article, is June 4 with the potential to be sooner since Myrtha Pools has made some tweaks to the process from building the Trials pools in 2008. The pools will need to be ready for the Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational, that will take place June 6-8 as the test event for the U.S. Olympic Trials.

“Everybody has a very orchestrated and very choreographed part in the whole thing,” Myrtha Pools USA president and CEO Kevin McGrath said. “To do it in 10 days, that's an Olympian feat in itself. It really is.”

The construction opened up with 18-hour days, that included concrete preslabs and steel grids to be put in place.
