SANTA CLARA, California, December 22. AT the CA-NV Winter Sectional Championships this week, a foursome from the Aquazot Swim Club downed a U.S. National Age Group record.
The quartet of Thomas Smith (51.24), Tyler Lin (57.87), Justin Hanson (52.42) and Matthew Wong (47.92), each 14 years old, downed the boys 13-14 U.S. National Age Group record in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:29.45.
That swim smashed the previous record of 3:33.95 set by Rockville-Montgomery's Garrett Powell, Collin Stanhope, Jack Conger and Matthew Gibson back in 2009.
