USA Swimming Winter Nationals: Nathan Adrian Claims Second Sprint Title

ATLANTA, Georgia, December 3. ON the heels of Jessica Hardy sweeping the women's 50 and 100 freestyle events, Nathan Adrian did the same amongst the men in the 100 free at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals.

Adrian backhalved his way to the win in 48.33. His fastest time this year is a fifth-ranked 48.05 from Worlds. Tucson Ford's Darian Townsend and France's Yannick Agnel shared the silver medal with matching times of 48.87.

Ricky Berens (48.94), Garrett Weber-Gale (49.55), David Walters (49.67), Clement Lefert (49.92), Cullen Jones (49.98), Richard Hortness (50.18) and Scot Robison (50.28) comprised the rest of the finale.

David Dunford captured the B final in 49.87, while Alex Coville earned second in 49.93. Graeme Moore (49.96), Gideon Louw (50.06), Mindaugas Sadauskas (50.08), Bjoern Hornikel (50.19), Bobby Savulich (50.26), Nick Brunelli (50.27), Joseph Hale (50.42) and Adam Ritter (51.00) posted the other finishes in the consolation final.

Jason Dunford won the C final in 49.71, while Tyler McGill took second in 50.35. Simon Burnett (50.47), Steven Cebertowicz (50.60), Shaune Fraser (50.75), Tyler Reed (50.78), Davis Tarwater (50.79), Josh Schneider (51.05) and Adam Powell (51.56) also competed in the C final.
