USA Swimming Winter Nationals: Sebastien Rouault Wins 1500 Free

ATLANTA, Georgia, December 3. FRANCE went back-to-back in the distance events tonight as France's Sebastien Rouault followed Camille Muffat's 800 free victory with a 1500 free victory of his own at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals.

Rouault dominated the final heat with a 15:12.22 to win the metric mile, that finished well outside of his 24th-ranked season best of 15:07.10 set back in March. FAST's Michael Klueh snagged second-place honors in 15:19.32, more than seven seconds back of the winner, while Matias Koski touched third in 15:26.47.

The top seven finishers all came from the final heat as Richard Charlesworth (15:31.21), Evan Pinion (15:33.93), Andrew Gemmell (15:36.89) and Sean Penhale (15:38.16) placed fourth through seventh. Brett Nagle (15:46.99) had the fastest time of the earlier heats to finish eighth, while Jameson Lyon took ninth in 15:47.82. Robert Wise (15:53.42) rounded out the top 10.
