USA Swimming Winter Nationals: Jason Dunford Snares 100 Fly Crown

ATLANTA, Georgia, December 2. KENYA's Jason Dunford earned the men's 100 fly national title with a 52.13 at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals. That swim clipped his preliminary time of 52.15, but fell short of his fourth-ranked season best of 51.59 from Worlds.

Tyler McGill picked up second-place honors in 52.41, but has been faster than Dunford this year with a third-ranked 51.26 also from Worlds. Alex Coci raced into third with a 52.96.

Tim Phillips (52.99), Tom Shields (53.19), Adam Madarassy (53.25), Davis Tarwater (53.39), Joe Bartoch (53.59), Mathias Gydesen (53.74) and Fred Bousquet (53.87) also vied for the title in the championship finale.

Masayuki Kishida cleared 53 seconds with a 52.92 to win the B final. David Russell (53.31) and Octavio Alesi (53.87) earned second and third. Eugene Godsoe (53.91), Ioan Gherghel (53.98), Jack Conger (54.14), Stefan Hirniak (54.50), Jake Tapp (54.64), Anestis Arampatzis (55.12) and Tommy Wyher (55.15) took fourth through 10th in the consolation heat.

Tom Kremer earned the C final victory in 54.61, while Mark Dylla placed second in 54.78. Akifumi Yamamoto (54.80), Eddie Erazo (54.93), Roger Dent (55.07), Zack Chetrat (55.08), Matthew Josa (55.29), Eric Chiu (55.39), Andrejs Duda (55.52) and Ian Hulme (55.69) placed third through 10th.
