USA Swimming Sectionals, Pittsburgh: Jennifer Roberts Wins Four Titles at Sectionals

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania, August 8. THE USA Swimming Sectionals held in Pittsburgh this weekend produced a handful of swimmers that won multiple titles in the long course meter format.

Seacoast's Jennifer Roberts first topped the women's 200 IM in 2:18.65. She returned to double on the second night with a win in the women's 100 fly in 1:02.01, and women's 400 IM in 4:57.10. Roberts captured her fourth title with a 2:14.97 in the women's 200 fly.

Malvern's Danielle Siverling took home the women's 100 free in 56.99 on the first night, then doubled up with a 2:02.56 to win the women's 200 free. Her third title came by way of a 4:19.10 in the women's 400 free.

A trio of swimmers won a pair of title each. Schenectady's Amy Bopp picked up the women's 100 breast in 1:12.18, then grabbed the women's 200 breast title in 2:35.43. Curl Burke's Nicholas Tremols took home the men's 200 IM in 2:07.18. Tremols then picked up the men's 100 fly title with a 54.63 on day two. Allegheny North's Jonathan Buerger touched in 1:53.19 to win the men's 200 free, then won the men's 400 free in 4:02.71.

Plenty of other swimmers won individual titles. For the women, Jersey Wahoo Mary Kate Davis won the women's 1500 free in 17:19.67, while Bethel Park's Charlotte Brackett claimed the women's 100 back in 1:04.95. GPAC's Hayley Edwards stopped the clock in 8:56.20 to win the women's 800 free, while Schenectady's Kathryn Rowe won the women's 200 back in 2:17.76. Melissa Gates turned in a 26.23 to win the women's 50 free.

Among the men, Golden Ram's Andrew Kosic won the men's 100 free in 51.47, while Machine's Richard Munch topped the men's 100 breast in 1:04.95. Eagle's William Yang claimed the men's 800 free in 8:25.25, while Germantown's Alex Lebed took the men's 400 IM title in 4:35.06. Curl Burke's James Crabb hit the wall in 2:02.77 to win the men's 200 fly, while Upper St. Clair's Kyle Dudzinski snatched the men's 100 back crown in 57.29. Allegheny North's Matt Buerger topped the men's 200 back in 2:06.66, while Seahawk's Joseph Gallene posted a 23.39 to win the men's 50 free. Suburban Seahawk's Robert Power turned in a 2:21.41 to win the men's 200 breast, while AGUA's Sammy Sherman picked up the men's 1500 free title in 16:09.87.
