USA Swimming Long Course Nationals: SwimMAC’s Micah Lawrence Surfaces With Win in 200 Breast

PALO ALTO, California, August 6. MICAH Lawrence of SwimMAC surfaced from an extremely competitive finale in the women's 200 breast with a win at the USA Swimming Long Course Nationals.

Lawrence touched out Minnesota's Haley Spencer, 2:27.06 to 2:27.09, for the title. Three other swimmers also checked in with 2:27s. Athens Bulldog Michelle McKeehan (2:27.57), Rattler's Andrea Kropp (2:27.61) and Santa Barbara's Katy Freeman (2:27.87) also were in the hunt for the title.

Center Grove's Emma Schoettmer (2:28.00), Bluefish's Laura Sogar (2:28.04), Wisconsin's Ashley Wanland (2:29.45), Nittany Lion's Corrie Clark (2:29.93) and Canton City's Laura Lindsay (2:31.58) turned in the rest of the championship finale times.

Stanford's Elizabeth Smith clocked in a 2:30.15 to capture the B final, while Rattler's Meghan Hawthorne turned in a 2:31.26 to win the C final.
