USA Swimming Long Course Nationals: SwimMAC Captures Men’s 800 Free Relay

PALO ALTO, California, August 5. THE squad from SwimMAC closed the fourth night of swimming at the USA Swimming Long Course Nationals with a win in the men's 800 free relay.

Davis Tarwater (1:50.08), John Stilley (1:50.55), Tim Phillips (1:50.16) and Kip Darmody (1:49.76) won the event in 7:20.55. They had some work to do, as Stanford's Morgan Priestley (1:49.53), Bobby Bollier (1:50.41), Robert Andrews (1:50.57) and Aaron Wayne (1:50.11) gave them nearly all they could handle in the same heat with a 7:20.62 for second. Club Wolverine's Dan Madwed (1:50.72), Michael Wynalda (1:51.87), Adam DeJong (1:52.31) and Roman Willetts (1:52.45) rounded out the top three with a 7:27.35.

Ohio State (7:27.50), Indiana (7:28.43), Stanford B (7:28.90), Palo Alto (7:29.23) and Tucson Ford (7:30.92) completed the top eight finishers in the relay event.
