Team China Defends FINA Synchronized Swimming World Trophy Title

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, December 2. CONFIRMING their first success of 2012, team China pocketed their second title at the eighth edition of the FINA Synchronised Swimming World Trophy, held from November 29 to December 1, 2013 in Mexico City (MEX).

A total 10 national federations — China, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Ukraine and USA — performed in the Synchro Highlight Routine, Thematic Duet, Free Team and Free Combination.

The Chinese team delivered their performance brilliantly in the three-day competition, winning three of the four contested events. Ukraine impressed, beating Spain to finish second overall.

Teams taking part in all events only were considered for the general standings.
Taking third spot at last year’s edition, Ukraine’s second-place finish is indicative of her rise to the top ranks of the sport. The Spaniards re-affirmed their place among the world’s best, securing the top-3 again in this competition.
