Channeling the Open Water World: The Elusive Oceans Seven

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California. May 14. WHO are open water swimmers closest to achieving the elusive goal of the Oceans Seven?

There are two swimmers with 6 out of the 7 channels conquered and completed. The channels include the English Channel, Catalina Channel, North Channel, Tsugaru Channel, Molokai Channel, Strait of Gibraltar and Cook Strait.

Stephen Redmond of Ireland is up next month in the Tsugaru Channel in Japan for his final assault. Penny Palfrey of Australia comes soon after that with her North Channel crossing scheduled for the summer.

What other swimmers are out there who are training and planning to achieve the Oceans Seven? These athletes below are just a handful of athletes who are closest to the elusive goal of the Oceans Seven.
