Pan American Games: Canada’s Richard Weinberger, Argentina’s Cecilia Biagioli Win 10Ks

GUADALAJARA, Mexico, October 22. THE Pan American Games featured open water swimming action today, just a day before the one-year anniversary of Fran Crippen's death during a FINA event in the United Arab Emirates last year.

Canada's Richard Weinberger touched out USA's Arthur Frayler, 1:57:31.0 to 1:57:31.3, for the gold medal in the men's 10K event. Meanwhile, Argentina's Guillermo Bertola earned bronze with a 1:57:33.9.

Argentina's Cecilia Biagioli cruised to victory in the women's 10K with a 2:04:11.5. Brazil's Poliana Okimoto touched second in 2:05:51.3, while USA's Christine Jennings claimed third-place overall in 2:05:52.2. USA's Eva Fabian just missed the podium with a fourth-place 2:05:54.8.
