Morning Swim Show: Lisa Dahl Getting Seattle’s Inner-City Youth Into Swimming

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 22. LISA Dahl has been working to bring more minorities into swimming, and on today’s edition of The Morning Swim Show she talks about the annual program she’s using to make that happen.

Dahl, the head coach at Central Area Aquatic Team in Seattle, talks about her “Get Wet” program that has grown steadily in the past three years as a three-week program to get inner-city youth accustomed to competitive swimming. Though the program does bring more kids into the sport, Dahl has some challenges, and she talks about the roadblocks parents and kids put before her. The work she is doing has limited her ability to continue her success as a Masters swimmer and water polo player but she is happy with the work that her staff is doing.
