Morning Swim Show: Talking With Paralympic Champ Jessica Long (Part 1)

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 21. PARALYMPIC champion Jessica Long is getting ready for the International Paralympic Committee's world championships, and on today's edition of The Morning Swim Show she talks about training for the big meet at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and why she's cutting back on her racing schedule.

In the first part of this two-part interview, Long says she needed to take a step back after winning eight medals at the Paralympics last year, and after taking some time off is back into full training mode, though only doing one workout a day. She also talks about training under head coach Dave Denniston and her plans to move from Colorado back to her hometown of Baltimore after the world championships. She also gives some behind-the-scenes scoop on shooting the commercial for Coca-Cola last year and the emotion of watching it play during the Olympics. Come back Monday for part two of this interview, in which Long discusses finding her Russian birth parents and what possible career path she might take.
