Morning Swim Show: Toomey and Van Swol Representing Gophers at World Games

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 17. UNIVERSITY of Minnesota teammates Derek Toomey and Kyler Van Swol join today's edition of The Morning Swim Show less than a month before they make their international racing debut at the World University Games.

The two talk about their preparation for the meet and how their teammates at Minnesota push them to be better for the meet. They also talk about the improvements Minnesota has made in the past couple of years. Toomey, who finished third in the 50 free at the recent NCAA championships, talks about being a part of his first individual championship final and how he was able to mentally focus on his race. Van Swol, who was academically ineligible for competition in the spring, is anxious to prove himself this next season, and describes the feeling of having to stay home during the NCAA meet.
