Morning Swim Show: Catherine Vogt Set to Lead USA Open Water Team in Barcelona

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 7. CATHERINE Vogt will lead a strong team of American open water swimmers at the FINA world championships, and she talks about the team's goals on today's edition of The Morning Swim Show.

Vogt, who was named head coach of the open water team recently, talks about her responsibilities in the weeks between the world championship trials and the start of the open water competition in Barcelona. Mostly, it includes conversations with coaches and swimmers on the team, plus work with USA Swimming to make sure all behind-the-scenes aspects are in place. She also details her training philosophy for the open water swimmers she trains daily, saying all of them are trained as pool swimmers first, with a focus on open water occasionally throughout the season.
