Morning Swim Show: Mark Hernandez, Gunn High Looking for Championship Repeat

PHOENIX, Arizona, May 9. MARK Hernandez joins today's edition of The Morning Swim Show on the eve of his Gunn High School swim team participating in the California Central Coast sectional championships.

Hernandez coached the team to a successful 2012 season, in which the girls' team placed second among public schools nationally in the Swimming World Magazine high school rankings. He talks about the thrill of the work the swimmers did to reach that goal, and whether his new crop of swimmers can rise to the occasion this year. They appear to be on track after winning the league championship for the first time in almost 15 years, which Hernandez said had been a goal since the start of the season. Hernandez talks about his own swimming background and why teaching English at Gunn High School has an added benefit for him. Be sure to visit SwimmingWorld.TV for more video interviews.
