Performance of the Week: Nov. 27, 2012

PHOENIX, Arizona, November 27. CAMILLE Muffat's world record in the short course 400 freestyle last Saturday at the European championships was far and away the top choice for the Performance of the Week, ending a monthlong quest for the Frenchwoman to break Joanne Jackson's mark.

Muffat swam a 3:54.85, breaking the record by just one tenth of a second. Last month at the Berlin stop of the FINA World Cup, Muffat had missed the record by one hundredth of a second. That makes two world records this month for Muffat, who had shattered the 800 freestyle record just two weeks ago at the French nationals. She's scheduled to race at next month's world championships, so we'll see if she can keep things rolling in Istanbul.

Congratulations to Camille Muffat. You've won our Performance of the Week.
