The Morning Swim Show, Sept. 12, 2012: Brian Bolster Sees Swimming As "An Art and a Science" -- September 12, 2012

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 12. ON today's edition of The Morning Swim Show Brian Bolster offers his thoughts on the science of swimming after speaking on the subject at the American Swimming Coaches Association's world clinic.

Bolster talks about "speed maintenance," which comprises stroke mechanics, energy systems and stroke-specific strength. He talks about what he does to work on these components with his team at Osprey Aquatics. Stroke count is also key in "speed maintenance," he says, citing Bob Bowman's work with Allison Schmitt and Michael Phelps for the London Olympics.
