In some key college dual meets this weekend, Cal and Stanford both visited USC for men's meets. Cal beat USC on Friday, 165 to 125. The Stanford men beat USC comfortably, 175-118. Bobby Bollier earned top points for Stanford in the 200 fly, but he lost a close call to Cal's Tom Shields. Bollier and Shields both finished in the top-three in this event at NCAAs last year, so expect some strong swims from both men as this college season winds down.

After losing to Arizona last week, the Texas men took down Texas A&M in College Station Friday night after a delay due to a tornado warning. Jimmy Feigen swept the sprint free events posting a 19.71 in the 50 free. Nick D'Innocenzo also put up two wins for the Longhorns in the 200 IM and 500 free to seal the victory.

On Saturday, the Clemson men's and women's teams defeated Emory in their final dual meet ever. Clemson's team will be cut after this season. After issues with their pool, the teams got to compete in the McHugh Natatorium one final time after not being able to do so for over a year. The teams took down some tough pool records in their final meet as they head into the ACC Championships, where Eric Bruck will defend his title in the 50 free.

Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom posted some strong times at the Swedish Grand Prix in Uppsala. Sjostrom swam 1:56.57 in the 200 free, 57.91 in the 100 fly, and 54.17 in the 100 free. In an interesting twist, at the National Open of Montpelier, Femke Heemskerk matched Sjostrom's 100 free time, and Camille Muffat did the same in the 200 free. Muffat came back to swim a 4:03.21 in the 400 free, the top time in the world this year and her lifetime best, while Camille Lacourt put up a 54.33 in the 100 back.

In Milan, Federica Pellegrini made her 2012 debut with a 1:58.05 in the 200 free, and Fabio Scozolli posted a 27.95 in the 50 breast for the top time in the world. Scozolli also won the 100 breast while Milorad Cavic picked up first in the 50 and 100 fly. After missing the last two years, Alessia Filippi returned to the pool to win the 200 back and 800 free. Filippi won the 1500 free at the World Championships in Rome in 2009 but did not compete in Shanghai this past summer.

Three Americans went down to Viedma, Argentina this weekend to compete in the second stop of the FINA Open Water World Cup. On the women's side, Eva Fabian earned an eight second victory over Haley Anderson to secure a US 1-2. For the men, world champion Spyridon Giannoitis took the win over Richard Weinberger and Evgeny Drattsev, and American Chip Peterson finished fourth.

British swimmer Achieng Ajulu-Bushell has quit the sport just a month out from Britain's Olympic Trials. Ajulu-Bushell swam for Kenya before switching over to compete for Britain in 2010. She missed last summer's World Championships with illness and has now decided she wants to focus on academics instead of swimming. Ajulu-Bushell cited a plateau of her career in her decision.
