Test Your Limits With The Alcatraz Challenge!

SAN FRANCISCO, California, June 26. TRI-California Events Inc. has announced the 6th Annual Orca Alcatraz Challenge scheduled for August 3rd and registration is now available. This year, the Orca Alcatraz Challenge will allow the multiple racing style opportunities.

Both races will follow the same format and feature three race options:
1. Aquathlon: 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz to Crissy Field, followed by a 7-mile out and back run over the Golden Gate Bridge.
2. Aquathlon Relay Team: 2-Person Team completing full Aquathlon course.
3. Swim only: 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz to Crissy Field.

“The Orca Alcatraz Challenge offers an epic way to get an up-close look at the site of infamous Alcatraz Island Federal Penitentiary, the Golden Gate Bridge, and a unique view of San Francisco’s world renowned skyline,” says Terry Davis, CEO and founder of Tri-California.

Race morning begins by jumping off the California Hornblower, positioned right off-shore of Alcatraz Island. Once in the water, athletes will endure chilly water temperatures and moderate currents as they make the 1.5-mile journey to East Beach of Crissy Field. After removing wetsuits, athletes participating in the Aquathlon will transition to running shoes for a hilly but beautiful out and back run on the Golden Gate Bridge, ultimately finishing back at Crissy Field.

Online Registration is available for the August 3rd race. For registration and additional information, visit: TriCalifornia.com
