St. Francis’ Curtis Ogren Edges Own National Independent School Record

SANTA CLARA, California, May 18. CURTIS Ogren, who swims for Saint Francis High in California, lowered his own national independent high school record in the 200-yard IM at the CIF Central Coast Section Championships.

Ogren turned in a time of 1:44.90 to win finals of the event, beating his previous record of 1:45.01 also set here at Central Coast Sectionals. Ogren joined fellow Stanford commit Ally Howe in the record-setting blast, as Howe also took down the 100-yard back record.

The overall and public school record of 1:41.39 set by David Nolan in 2011 still stands. Nolan had quite possibly the best meet by a high school swimmer ever that year, and some of his times may never be broken in high school competition.
