Nevada’s Second-Ranked Recruit Patrick McCrillis Picks South Carolina

RENO, Nevada, October 11. THE South Carolina Gamecocks and head coach McGee Moody just picked up the second-rated recruit in the State of Nevada as Reno’s Patrick McCrillis is headed to Columbia following his senior year.

McCrillis, who is ranked second in Nevada by CollegeSwimming.com, threw down a 45.30 in the 100-yard freestyle live on SwimmingWorld.TV at the 2013 NCSA Junior Nationals for his top swim ever.

McCrillis also has some versatility across freestyle with a 21.17 in the 50-yard free and a 10:13.76 in the 1000-yard free, so Moody will have plenty of places to put the 6-6 giant. And, with that type of build and frame, there’s no limit to where Moody can take McCrillis in terms of top-end speed.

McCrillis also has some long course ability. He holds a 52.55 in the 100-meter free, a 1:53.70 in the 200-meter free and a 4:07.19 in the 400-meter freestyle all from various meets in the past two years.
