KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, July 5. WITH the way head coach Matt Kredich's coaching staff has been accumulating sprint talent on the men's side of the ledger this summer, it could be just a matter of time before the Volunteers are back to the top of an NCAA relay podium like the Lady Vols were in March.

Today, Polish Olympian Kacper Majchrzak committed to be a future Volunteer, and has four years of college eligibility out of the Class of 2013. He joins Australian sprint stud Luke Percy as a huge 1-2 punch in the Class of 2013 freshman class for the Big Orange.

"I wanted to join a great team with the possibility to compete every day, where every workout I can be the best I can be," Majchrzak told Swimming World. "I know that in Tennessee my dreams can come true. I will have a great opportunity to join a team that studies and swims on a high level. I know that with Tennessee, I can prepare to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games as well."

Majchrzak boasts a stunning freestyle repertoire coming out of Poland with top long course times of 22.49, 49.45 and 1:53.33 in the 50, 100 and 200 meter events. Also, in short course meters, he sports a 22.04, 48.10 and 1:46.59 and should make an immediate impact on the Volunteer relays, especially on the 200-meter free relay where he will match his 22.49 with Percy's sizzling 22.24 to push Kredich's squad into title contention. Essentially, Tennessee just scored a pair of National Age Group record-setter Caeleb Dressel type talents in one recruiting class. That makes the Volunteers one of the hottest teams in the nation right now.

Majchrzak's long course times convert to 19.57, 43.17 and 1:39.16 in short course yard. His 50 would have placed him seventh at NCAAs last year, while his 100 time would have placed 14th overall at the IU Natatorium in March. Internationally, Majchrzak competed for Poland at the 2012 London Olympics in the 50-meter free and in the 400-meter medley relay.

It's not his fastest swim, but here's video of a 50-meter free uploaded by Majchrzak in May to take a look for yourself at the talented future Volunteer.
