Matt Hardy and Bailey Wind, both of Shenendehowa High School, were hospitalized from injuries sustained in the crash Monday. Their fellow classmates took to Twitter, tweeting out the hash tags #TebowCallMatt and #MissyCallBailey, in an effort for the pair to receive calls from their respective sports idols. The hash tags quickly began trending, and were noticed by Tebow and Franklin.
Monday night, Tebow called Hardy, who was in stable condition after the crash. Franklin reportedly tried calling Wind, but got her voicemail. Wind is reportedly in serious condition and is being treated for broken bones.
Franklin Tweeted out:
Called Bailey and left her a voicemail. Would still love to talk to her. Bailey and her community are in my thoughts and prayers #staystrong

How quickly the hash tag trended garnered media attention, and several news outlets Tweeted their own response:
There is a effort to get #TebowCallMatt and #MissyCallBailey trending, so the 2 survivors in Saturday's Northway crash can meet their idols.
