HOLLAND, Michigan, November 18. DURING prelims of the Michigan High School State Championships for Division II, Holland High School downed the national public school record in the girls 200-yard medley relay.
Courtney Bartholomew (24.62), Melissa Vandermeulen (29.43), Taylor Garcia (24.24) and Holly Morren (22.83) clocked a time of 1:41.12. That swim eclipsed the 1:41.42 set by Carmel High last year.
Carondelet's overall, and independent, school record remains with a 1:40.73 set last year as well. However, Holland will be shooting for it during finals of the state championships.
