Auburn, Harvard Claim Five Star Recruits

PHOENIX, Arizona, November 1. AUBURN picked up some steam with a pair of recruits committing to be future Tigers via the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings system. Additionally, Harvard snagged another five-star prospect.

Auburn
Auburn made some noise in the past few days. Five star Alex Hancock will attend Auburn after graduation. Hancock, who trains for Howick Pakuranga and preps at Pakuranga College in New Zealand, adds a butterfly specialist to Brett Hawke's squad. Hancock's top long course times are in the 100 fly (55.58) and 200 fly (2:03.35).

Four-star Jacob Siar is also headed to Auburn next fall. Siar, who trains with the CCA Marlins and preps at Cave Spring High School, has a senior national cut in the 200-meter back (2:03.05).

They join two five stars to have already committed to Auburn. Jordan Jones and Jillian Vitarius have also made their decisions to head to Auburn.

Harvard
Harvard kept its recruiting momentum going with its second five-star commitment. Steven Kekacs has pledged to compete for Harvard after graduation. Kekacs, who trains with ASL and preps at Aiken High School, is a versatile athlete with several senior national cuts: 400m free 3:59.44; 1500m free 15:51.13; 200m fly 2:03.02; 400m IM 4:32.78.

He joins five-star Kendall Crawford and three-star Marlee Ehrlich as public commitments thus far.

Ohio State
Three star Katy Luchansky is on her way to OSU next fall. Luchansky, who trains with Wilton YMCA and preps at Saint Joseph High School, has a trio of junior national cuts: 100m free 0:58.01; 200m free 2:05.07; 100m fly 1:02.98.

Ohio State has continued to pull in plenty of talent with five other swimmers already going public with their commitments to the Buckeyes. Five star Josh Fleagle, five star Annie Lazor, four star Christopher DePietro, three star Camey Rabold and two star Erin Dunseith are also heading to Columbus.

Penn State
Three star Maxwell Byers will be a future Nittany Lion. Byers, who trains at EDWY Breakers and preps at Edwardsville High School, has a bunch of junior national cuts: 100m breast 1:06.10; 200m breast 2:23.50; 200m IM 2:08.67; 400m IM 4:33.55; 100y breast 0:57.34; 200y breast 2:02.96; 200y IM 1:51.11; 400y IM 3:57.42. He is the first public commitment to PSU.
