LSU’s Amanda Kendall Out of NCAAs

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana, March 5. IN what can only be seen as bad news for both the swimmer and LSU, junior Amanda Kendall will miss the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships next week due to surgery.

“LSU junior swimmer Amanda Kendall suffered a non-swimming related injury and is having surgery on Wednesday,” LSU spokesperson Seth Medvin told Swimming World. “She will not be competing at the NCAA Championships.”

Kendall was seeded fourth in the 50 free, seventh in the 100 free and 15th in the 100 fly for LSU. She also would have been a key to LSU's relay efforts.

The first alternate currently on the list to replace Kendall is North Carolina's Candace Cooper, who should make the meet in the 100 backstroke.
