Boise State Invitational, Day One

BOISE, Idaho, October 14. BOISE State women's swimming and diving set another pool record and took first place in all eight swimming events to jump out to a big lead on the first day of its invitational meet with New Mexico and Seattle, Friday, at the Boise-West Family YMCA. The Broncos are in first place with 426 points, followed by New Mexico's 325 and Seattle's 168 points.

The Broncos' 400-yard medley relay started the meet with a pool record. Jessica Bottelberghe, Heather Harper, Amber Boucher and Stephanie North teamed up to win the event in 3:48.07, breaking the old record by more than three seconds.

Bottelberghe, Boucher, Harper and North all added individual victories. Freshmen Emily Blasko and Sydney Johansen also won events and the Broncos finished the day with a 1-2 finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Amanda Burnett and Ciera Cortney took second and third in one-meter diving, respectively.

The three teams finish the two-day meet Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Boise-West YMCA.
