Catawba to Add Men’s Program in 2006

SALISBURY, N.C., USA, August 31. IN what is a positive development for the sport, Catawba College will add men’s swimming as a varsity sport in the fall of 2006. The North Carolina school already features women’s swimming and coach Betsy Graham will increase her duties by guiding both programs. The women’s team was founded in 1994.

A Division II school in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference, scholarships are available and the women’s program has continually grown under the leadership of Graham, who has been at Catawba for four years. Last year, five school records were broken and the team has scored at the NCAA Division II Championships.
